El tripulante Koert prepara una nueva travesía con sus compañeros de master. Será por la Costa Daurada en un fin de semana de septiembre.

My initial idea was to charter a number of smaller boats and to do a kind a flotilla sailing from Barcelona either up North or down South, but after considering that most of us have little sailing experience and appreciate style and comfort to a certain degree, I changed the plan a little bit and found a fantastic 15 meter yacht with capacity for 10-12 people, where we all can sail and stay together. This yacht is having five double cabins, and three heads ! On the picture it might look small, but I can assure you that this will be one of the biggest yachts in the harbor !

The yacht is based is in Sitges, a lovely small town, some 30 km South from Barcelona, but very easily reachable by «cercanias», which is a very frequent commuter train leaving from the main stations in Barcelona, or a (shared) taxi, and off course I will try pick most of you up myself from Barcelona.

The plan I have in mind is as follows:

Friday Afternoon (Sept 11):
– gather in Sitges, visit the village, get installed onboard, and dinner outside in one of Sitges nice restaurants

Saturday (Sept 12):
– breakfast on board
– get ready for departure
– set sail in the direction of the Tarragona, aprox 30 nautical miles
– have a light lunch on board (depending on the timing we could anchor off somewhere in between)
– arrive at Tarragona after a complete day of sailing
– drinks at the old fishing harbor taverns (area recently upgraded)
– dinner in the old town (cathedral and old Roman remains)
– last drink on board ?

Sunday (Sept 13):
– breakfast on board
– leisure sail back to Sitges
– lunch on board
– arrival and trip back to Barcelona

Depending on the weather, and our eagerness to sail more or less, the «Costa Daurada» area («Gold Coast») offers plenty of alternative routes and destinations, so this plan can easily be adjusted.

Esta vez nos vamos a desplazar hasta Holanda en avión para recoger el barco por lo que el equipaje va a tener que ir muy ajustado, máxime cuando algunos volaremos en vuelos de bajo coste.

El barco tiene una almohada para cada uno, pero no tiene sabanas, ni mantas, ni otros trapitos de menaje, así que cada uno va a tener que llevar su saco de dormir y/o un cubre-colchón, lo que todavía reducirá más el sitio en nuestras maletas.

Por eso vamos a alquilar los trajes de agua allí, evitando tener que llevarlos. La noticia buena es que el precio para los 12 dias son 35 Euros cada uno. La mala es que no nos alquilan las botas de agua.
