La regata estuvo realmente bien ya que había buena parte que se hacía cerca de la costa de
Formentera e Ibiza. Esto hacía que, por un lado el paisaje acompañara, y por otro que los
veleros se vieran obligados a ir más agrupados. Esto último nos permitía tomar referencias
de lo bien o mal que lo hacíamos.

Además hubo de todo, desde encalmadas hasta temporal, sol, lluvia, … Llevábamos tres tipos de velas distintas para la proa (génova, genaker, spinaker) y con esta variabilidad de condiciones climatológicas pudimos usar las tres, lo que siempre es más entretenido y te permite más opciones tácticas. El que nos pillara el temporal en las últimas millas nos retrasó unas 6 horas, pero sobre todo nos hizo daño porque ya estábamos cansados y no dosificamos la tripulación.

Al final, de nuestra clase (Alfa 2) sólo terminaron la regata la mitad y, de ellos, sólo otro barco con tripulación independiente como la nuestra quedó por delante, consiguiendo nosotros el 12º puesto.

We are so impressed with the combative spirit, the team feeling and the suffer capacity of all of the team in this race. It was the first time for many of them, and they have to fight against a complex regatta.

In words of the champion (and five-times winner): «Without doubt the most complex out of all that we have participated». The Race Director describe very well the conditions: «The weather this year was very difficult. It means an enormous effort for the participants who have had a lot of work to negotiate situations that could change suddenly. Little wind, calm or showers, sometimes very strong, which forced them to stick in harsh conditions».

At the end of the regatta half of the sailboats of our Division (Alfa 2) never finish it, and only one independent crew (like us) arrived before us.

A few days ago our captain Koert said:

Como en otras ocasiones, en esta aventura también hemos diseñado una prenda para la tripulación. En esta ocasión es un polo tipo rugby de color naranja con el logo de la imagen.

Sometimes we consider to print a «team» polo shirt, which we can use while sailing and at the different events. At the begining, we were thinking in a blue colored long sleeve polo shirt with a white letter print on the back, with reference to the event and the names (and nations ?) of all of us. The final colour is orange, but the logo design is nearby this, like you can see up there.
